Religion is highly intermingled within this story. In pages 11-32 religion is mentioned quite a bit. When he goes to get his fortune read by the gypsie woman he has a childish fear within him that all gypsies were devil worshippers. He is then reassured when he sees an image of the sacred heart of jesus on the table. Also he recites a prayer for protection. Another religious reference which was hidden within the script was when the old wise king gave him Urim and Thummim. These happen to be two stones that are written about in the bible. God is once again mentioned when the king thinks to himslef that gods should have no desires.
